What do you see when I write down four numbers: 1 2 3 4? What do you see? Do you see 4 random numbers? Do you see a pattern? Do you see a telephone number? Do you see a total, as in 10 if you add up all the numbers? Does it make you think of an address? Does it make you think of kindergarten or first grade when you were first asked to write and add numbers? What do you see?

Any one object can evoke a number of responses in people. So it is with the prophetic. You may see one thing first, then later something else. You may see one thing, I may see another. It is not a matter of right or wrong. It is about associations.

God knows the associations in your heart and mind. If He wants to get your attention, He knows exactly how to do that. If He wants you to dig a little deeper, the association may not be immediately obvious to you. Maybe He wants you to wait for more revelation. Maybe He wants you to spend more time with Him. Maybe He wants you to dig deeper into the Word. Maybe He wants to connect you with something else who holds the meaning.

What do we do we the things we see? If they are given to us by Holy Spirit, we also want to let Him be the interpreter. If it is for personal revelation, we need to wait for the interpretation. If it is for someone else over whom we are giving prophetic words, we have to decide whether to give what we see or wait for interpretation.

It is not always easy to know what to do with what we see. Sometimes people will say, “I see the time 6:16 all the time. What does that mean?” I don’t know what that means. I don’t know if it is about the sequence, the total, the reference or something else. Maybe it is a Scripture reference, meaning the 6th chapter and the 16th verse of some book in the Bible. As you go through the Bible, if there is a verse reference with that number in one of the books of the Bible, that may be your answer.

Right now I have a painting with 3 keys and 3 keyholes in the door. Through the keyholes light is emanating. What does that mean? It could mean a number of things. Fortunately for me, the artist who rendered the painting was given the following interpretation by the Lord:

The 3 keys represent 3 ancient keys to unlock a fresh glory of the Lord to fall.
The first one is the Love of the Father.
The second one is Davidic worship.
The third one is a fresh move of the Holy Spirit.

May God bless your eyes to perceive what He wants you to see. May He anoint your spiritual perception.
