I was on a ministry trip to the West Coast in the neighborhood of Arcata, Eureka and Fortuna. On several occasions there was opportunity for people to give prophetic words, and I really wanted to but did not get the opportunity to do so. When we headed out to a church that evening, again there was opportunity to prophesy, but that night I felt the Lord leading me not to do so. Instead I felt led to go over to that side of the room where we provided opportunity for people to go who wanted to receive prayer for healing.
I don’t remember how it all went, except that we had different stations set up so that if people wanted to receive prayer for healing they could go to one of those stations. One man came with some family members. He was struggling with depression. As he sat down, I sensed the Lord telling me to ask about his knee. I asked him if he had problems with his knee. Well, yes, he did. I sensed that the Lord wanted to heal his knee. I asked him if it was OK to lay my hand on his knee and pray for his knee. Yes, that would be fine. As soon as I laid my hand on his knee, everyone else proceeded to do the same thing by laying their hands on top of my hand so that there were at least five hands piled on top of each other on the man’s knee. I started prophesying over the knee that it would be healed. As we were done praying, I asked him to stand up and test his knee. Imagine his amazement when he discovered all the pain was gone.
It turned out that his depression was caused by the knee pain which severely restricted his ability to sit at his desk on a daily basis and get any work done because of the pain. His pain caused him so much discomfort that it started to affect his mental state. The humorous part is that he forgot to mention the knee pain in the first place, but God knew the cause and had the solution.
Even more funny is the fact that the man had not really wanted to come over and receive any prayer for healing. He had to be coaxed by a family member and he only came because she agreed to accompany him. I found this out after the fact. To add to the humor of the situation, the family member who accompanied him shared with me later that he had not wanted to go and he definitely did not want any people laying hands on him!
But this is not all. The family member who brought the man to be healed shared with me that her whole family was touched that weekend. In a series of events that only God could have orchestrated, several brothers of the man who was healed gave their lives to the Lord. In all, six people were healed, saved and delivered in one family in one weekend. Isn’t God wonderful?
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31
