I have always been drawn to knowing God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I would listen to songs and messages that interchanged their names so often. But there was one moment when a deeper revelation came. I was at a church meeting and the speakers were demonstrating an illustration of the Trinity.

They had a beautiful hearted man come to the front and represent the Father. A strong young man represented Jesus, and then a brilliant and kind woman represented the Holy Spirit. The three “actors” were directed to hold hands facing each other and move in a clockwise pattern. This demonstrated three different persons, but one circle. That moment of revelation was revolutionary in my life!! Oh!! Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit were moving as One!!!

And then it got even better. The speakers described the most beautiful loving relationship that They had with each Other. They were in perfect unity and delight. Their fellowship was abundant and fully satisfying. Because of Jesus’ shed blood for my sins, I was invited to be in the very center of this Community. This is where they long for me to be! Wow!!

I began to practice that reality. I practiced in my imagination that I was in the very center of the fellowship of God. I would simply enjoy the security of this most profound place. This a strong place of His Presence. Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.” I imagine running into the middle of His name. He is all the name that Scripture unfolds. You can literally hide in the middle of His name. It is from this secure place of love and protection that I pray. It’s not all that I do, sometimes l listen to what They are talking about. I feel like a child at the dinner table listening to my parents talk about their day. I just listen. Sometimes I simply hear the song that They are singing. Sometimes, I revel in the privilege of being invited into this place; I revel in the fellowship that I have with God. It is for you too. This hiding place is offered to any who know Jesus as the Lord and Savior.

It is this place that Graham Cooke and Brother Lawrence found. Scripture is full of ways to access it. Yesterday I had a dream. In the dream I was given Colossians 3:1-3: “If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Your secret place is hidden in the midst of Him. Practice this place. And then, everything else is extra. All the prayers and intercession are on the outside. While you are with Him, and He brings something to mind, then acknowledge it and then go back to simply hanging out with God while you go about your life. It is from this secret hiding place, that I pray. You can too!
