Beat your plowshare into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a warrior.” Joel 3:10
Isaiah and Micah talk about turning swords into plowshares as a sign of peace. Joel mentions the reverse: taking your daily farm instruments and turning them into weapons.
There is a time for peace and a time for warfare, spiritual warfare to be more exact. Sometimes we need to rest in the promises of God and trust in His daily provision, and sometimes we need to rise up and take the Kingdom by force.
Now is the time to rise up in the Spirit and apprehend all that God has for us. Now is the time to be on your knees. Now is the time to be war with your words, the Word, and His promises to you and to the church. Now is the time to war in the spiritual realms.
Today is Ascension Day. Jesus ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We see from a heavenly perspective. We war from a heavenly perspective.
How would your prayers change if you knew things from a heavenly perspective? How would you war differently if you could see things from Jesus’ perspective?
But we do. Although we see in part and we know in part, we are seated in heavenly places. When we know the outcome, when we are privy to the strategies of the evil one, when we know what we cannot see with the physical eyes, we pray more effectively.
Let us ware more effectively. Let us seize the day!
The Word of God is your weapon. Let us not shrink back. Let us war from a place of victory.
